high school recognition night

Some of me and my best friendsss!!

Last night was "High School Recognition Night". At the football game, we got called out onto the field and the Head Administrater said some nice stuff about us. then we gave flowers to our moms and that was that. After half time though was really.... interesting. We all went and sat up in the very top corner of the bleachers and hung out.... Ohh goodness..... fun times, fun times. All the high school girls got to wear their mums. It was kinda like homecoming for us.... But not really because technically, we can't have homecoming until next year.... long story, I won't bore you(:

It was our last football game of the season (I know, I know - short season). But, i'm proud to say.... the Lions went undefeated

Halloween

Fun at the party store trying to decide on a costume... Ahh good times! Went with a ladybug lol

chester

We got a new kitty today.... (: His name's Chester. He's such a sweetheart, so tiny and innocent. The animal shelter said that he was just brought in today.... So, he's had a very long day as I can imagine.

having it half way

You know how sometimes you hold on to something so tight and for so long that you know you're better off letting go of? But you're absorbed in it that you can't see that you'd be better off without it.

Yea, it happens to everybody...

A few things you should know

Well, like I said on the "About Me" page, I messed up my 8th grade year and the summer following. That's true. I got myself into some stuff the summer before 8th grade, during 8th grade, and the summer after 8th grade that I shouldn't have gotten myself involved in.

During Edge Camp in June the summer following 8th (my church's youth camp for students 6th - 12th grade), I recommitted my life to Christ and made a promise to Him to try my best not to get thrown off track my 9th grade year; to get my priorities set straight and keep them that way.

I've been praying since Edge that God will bless my 9th grade year and I won't get in over my head, fall into any more traps (which is what I happen to be very good at), that I will be able to focus on HIM, and I will know what's REAL and what's not. And also that only the Lord will be able to "animate" me - not anything or anyone else.

You know how sometimes we make decisions based on what we feel or see? Well I do that a lot. I'm not gonna lie, one thing I need to improve about myself is consulting God about doing things before I just jump in because something "feels" like the right thing to do or it "looks" to be okay. That's how I get myself into a lot of trouble; not consulting the Lord (who knows everything, including what is going to happen). That is also something I want to change my first year of high school.

Notice the title of the blog is "Ninth Through My Eyes" Your eyes can certainly deceive you....trust me. I want to look at my first year of high school through fresh eyes, a fresh heart, a new perspective so I can be deceived as little as possible. Which is what I got at Edge Camp - a new start, new eyes, a new heart, and definitely new perspective.
